Jin, the oldest member of K-pop mega-band BTS, has entered military service - the first of the group to do so. As South Korea is still technically at war with North Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the army.

Jin has begun five weeks' training at a bootcamp near the North Korean border. After this, he will reportedly be assigned to a frontline unit. This news has sent his millions of adoring fans into a frenzy.

It is rumored that the government may have allowed the members of BTS to skip military service, but the band members announced in October that they would all enlist. Jin's fans have expressed surprise that he will be stationed on the front line.

Jin posted a photo of himself with his new military haircut before enlisting, saying "it looks cuter than I expected." While his fans will undoubtedly miss him while he is away serving his country, they can take comfort in the fact that he will be doing his part to keep South Korea safe from its hostile neighbor.

For now, all we can do is wait and see what Jin's time on the front line will bring. In the meantime, BTS fans can continue to support their favorite band and Jin by streaming their music and watching their videos on YouTube.
