74Welcome to my lets play series with the game Buccaneers! by Skyward Digital! Buccaneers! is a first person pirate action RPG where you can have epic ship battles, attack towns, dig up buried treasure and help decide which country rules the Caribbean... OR you could just become a dastardly sea dog and take it all for yourself! You can trade between towns, upgrade your ship and command your own fleet, it's all for the taking! You just need to figure out how to plunder it without being hauled down to Davy Jones' locker.
In this episode we start off as a lowly captain of a British frigate who has been tasked with hunting down a pirate within our waters. Let's see what the men are capable of and see if we can make a pretty penny in the process! Then it's off to Nassau to report to the Governor and take a look around the town and maybe talk to a local or two...

Rewrite History!
Pledge your allegiance to one of four factions with unique abilities tailored to different playstyles. Sign up with the British, French or Spanish empires or join the fearsome Buccaneers’ League and fight for dominance in the region. Each faction’s starting location and number of colonies changes when you start a new game, tipping the balance of power and allowing endless possibilities.
Rule The Waves!
Take command of your own sailing warship and engage in intense naval battles where superior strategy wins the day. Sink or capture enemy ships and storm coastal forts to gain land for your faction, then upgrade your ship or acquire a larger one to become the most feared captain in the Caribbean!
Fight On Land Or On Sea!
Whether you’re boarding a ship, assaulting a fort or sneaking into an enemy harbour in the dead of night, you have a wide variety of melee and ranged weapons at your disposal. Equip up to five weapons from swords and pistols to muskets and grenade launchers, and switch weapons on-the-fly to deal with any situation.
Full VR Support!
Buccaneers! is fully-playable in VR as well as standard mode, with shared game saves between both modes. In VR, your full-scale warship is brought to life as you steer it by hand and use any combination of melee and ranged weapons to slay your foes however you want.
History
Buccaneers! began as a simple idea: to create a modern take on the basic pirate game formula pioneered by the likes of Sid Meier's Pirates! and the Sea Dogs series. At first, it was a VR-only concept, with the intention of making a game that could scale between high and low-end devices while still looking visually pleasing. This led to the low-poly art style, and after a few prototypes, the fundamentals of the game began to take shape, focusing on ship battles, limited land exploration and basic quests. It soon became clear that Buccaneers! would also work well in non-VR, so it became a multi-platform title intended for PC, consoles and VR. The game's scope was limited to ensure it would be feasible enough to produce for so many target platforms, as well as keeping performance in check. This was no easy task, but despite all the challenges involved, Buccaneers! is on track to bring the simple fun of the games that inspired it to a whole new generation.
