Budds Creek Motocross 450cc Recap: Chase Sexton Wins Again!
The 450cc class at the Budds Creek Motocross left little change on Saturday. KTM's Chase Sexton would go 2-1 for the overall win.
The first 450cc moto did not leave much to discuss for the win, as Honda's Hunter Lawrence got the holeshot and led from gate to flag. There was a scare on the opening lap, as Yamaha's Justin Cooper went for a pass, but he connected with Lawrence and crashed.
Cooper would rebound for a 20th in moto 1 and did better with a 4th in moto 2 for 10th overall.
Honda's Lawrence led moto 2, but he was no match for the hard-charging Chase Sexton. Sexton, despite an early fall, still caught and passed Hunter Lawrence for the moto 2 and overall win.
Yamaha's Eli Tomac returned for the first time since sitting out the final round of Supercross at Salt Lake City. He went 4-11 for 7th overall.
For now, we head to the final round of the 2024 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Ironman Raceway in Indiana where a 450cc champ will be crowned.
