I honestly could not have expected to enjoy this as much as I did. It's definitely antiquated in its design, acting, story, etc. But there are some really compelling ideas here, way earlier than one would expect. I completed several series of side quests that ultimately cut off food supply for enemy soldiers, which reduced the total health of enemies. I cut off mining resources and weakened their weapons. This game is way ahead of its time in a few ways. It's also really unique because its engine and basically the entire way the worlds were designed was fabricated by the dev team. The voice acting is hilariously bad, there's a bunch of sections where it is entirely unclear what you need to do, and guides will almost certainly be required (It's okay though, because this game is just old enough that you have the incredible web pages that have the entire game walkthrough as a single txt file). This game is fascinating, and not too much of a slog. I recommend it if you have an interest in this kind of thing. It's ultimately a really good time. There is a full remake of it available that I will definitely be playing at some point, and unbeknownst to me when I began, there is a sequel on the way!
