Having gotten approval for an explorer permit, Kabbu and Vi travel to Snakemouth Den in search of the first ancient artifact, which will lead to the Everlasting Sapling. In their search, they come across a moth named Leif trapped in a spider web. After rescuing him, he explains that he was on a scouting mission and abandoned by his old crew. Left with no other option, Leif accompanies Kabbu and Vi, and only after nearly getting attacked does Leif realize he has ice magic to fend off enemies with, allowing the duo to briefly become a trio. Just who is Leif exactly, and is the artifact within reach with his assistance?
