It may have taken three years, but I've finally defeated Team Slacker.

In terms of potential damage output, Vi and Leif are about on par with each other, with the former decimating individual enemies with Tornado Toss and Hurricane Toss, and the latter obliterating groups with Ice Rain. Though due to most of the game's difficult battles being against single opponents, Vi's versatility with her standard attack, and Tornado Toss and Hurricane Toss being much cheaper than Ice Rain, it's usually better to dedicate your offensive builds to her.
However, while Vi can power through Team Maki, the same can't be said about Team Slacker due to Stratos' insane power, Delilah's ability to attack twice and ability to disable a bug's ability to use items and special attacks, and their bulk that allows for them to stick around for more than a few turns. As such, for this battle, it's better to use Leif since not only can he deal with both members of Team Slacker at the same time, but he can also prevent them from attacking (and by extension, delay them from gaining the ability to attack twice in one turn) by freezing them.
But while Leif's the main star when it comes to attacking, Kabbu plays a role that just as, if not more, important in the form of a wall. Sure, Kabbu will be spending the grand bulk of the battle literally doing nothing, but without his defenses (which have been boosted with both iron seeds and both Reflection badges), as well as the HP and TP boosts granted to him with the Prayer and Meditation medals, he'll go down before the Miracle Matter medals will revive Leif and Vi. Seriously, by doing nothing, Kabbu becomes a nigh invincible juggernaut that can take zero damage from any attack with a simple block.
