In this part, we head over to Route 22 and face off with Lance again after catching one of each Nidoran gender and a Spearow. Afterwards, we head through Route 2 and catch a Weedle, then through Viridian Forest. Inside we catch Caterpie, Kakuna, Metapod, Pikachu, and the elusive Bulbasaur, before entering Pewter City.

Note: Inside Viridian Forest you can also catch Beedrill, however I never encountered one myself oddly enough. On another note, Bulbasaur is very rare, so you may end up wandering the forest for quite some time.
