[Builderment] Steam Release (re-start) pt4 - Endgame, scaling up (FIN)
might be the dumbest buy on steam ever for me lol considering it's free on iOS
There's value in first look playthroughs, but I restarted because I felt the previous run just runs into a fundamental misunderstanding of one of the progression mechanics in the game (Power plants vs extractors)
post-run edit:
This run had a very solid first half, with everything well-organized and laid out. I think towards the end I ended up wanting to finish the tech tree and started mashing production chains together without worrying about ratios, and manually switching lines over to whatever bottleneck needed to be solved (something that could be 'automated' with balancers, which I generally forgo).
I'd initially planned to continue this run scaling things to the endgame extractors and belts, but by the time the run finishes in just under 15 hours, I feel like a better approach would be to sit down with calculators and spreadsheets (something I generally don't do for first runs thru automation games) and figure out the general ratios on what's needed to pump out the Earth Tokens so I can plan a 2nd run better. Probably not happening in 2023 though.
I'd stick to my initial review of this game being positive, albeit not worth the current $25 asking price.
