This session will unveil how Steamroller Animation has embraced Unreal Engine 5 to redefine storytelling in long-form narratives. Steamroller will dive deep into their artistic process for achieving a captivating 2D aesthetic on animated series Spice Frontier, from unique shader techniques to strategies for emulating art-directed lighting—all achieved in real time within Unreal Engine.

They'll also share insights into their novel shot creation workflow using Sequencer; the custom assets and Blueprints they developed to seamlessly integrate real-time and conventional CG animation processes; and the valuable lessons they learned along the way.
