Matsumushi is one of the many unlockable characters. You unlock him by completing story mode with Kannuki or Suminagashi if you keep him alive. I like Matsumushi. Not only he can dual wield with the katana, he's a pretty balanced fighter.

Matsamushi was dragged into helping the Narukagami because he saved a little girl near the Tatara Shrine. He doesn't like to fight despite being good at it.
