At the annual meeting at Davos, a World Economic Forum report has thrown many questions on how businesses can be conducted. Can Business and religion go hand in hand? A recently released World Economic Forum report- “Faith in Action” indicates a deep intersection between business and faith. The report through 8 case studies offers examples of businesses partnering with faith-based groups to support vulnerable populations and address the world’s interconnected crises. Interestingly, ISKCON and Haribol Company featured among the top four case studies.
Gopal Patel, Co Chair, United Nations Multi-faith Advisory Council said " In our esearch we came across with the work of Haribol and Iskon working to mitigate impact of climate change and supplying products of faith community that they definitely need."
Haribol, is a Mumbai based food and beverage company established in 2020. It has carved out a unique niche by selling its products to traditional Indian and Hindu groceries globally, contributing to rural development in India, and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions through their state-of-the art technology.
Yachneet Pushkarna, CEO - Haribol (ISKON) said, "For faith organisations it is not about P&L…it has its eithics and values in place..this is what aim of Haribol is."
Given 85% of the world’s population are religious adherents, the report has advocated that global leaders cannot afford to ignore the impact of religion and spirituality.
