Butter Building (Jazz Trombone Quintet Cover) from Kirby's Adventure - dannymusic
Kirby Kirby Kirby is the name that you know. Kirby Kirby Kirby he's the star of the show.
One thing I love about the Kirby games is that they've developed their own canon of music! That is, there's a distinctive set of level themes that recur throughout many games all throughout the nearly 25-year-old series! Butter Building is one piece in this canon -- originally it's the music for the third level of Kirby's Adventure for the NES (Kirby's Adventure was significant as the first Kirby game to feature copy abilities). Additionally, the Butter Building theme shows up in various arrangements in Nightmare in Dreamland, Epic Yarn, Squeak Squad, Canvas Curse, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. (Crystal Shards features an especially jazzy version.)
So... jazz! This channel has gone on far too long without it! I wanted to keep the fast tempo of the original though but still have it sound light and easy (and hopefully not too heavy due to the trombones). This meant a lot of high notes which were pretty fun to play! I actually had the toughest time with the bass part since I didn't leave too many places for breathing.
As for the video, since all five parts in the quintet were playing basically all the time I just kept the split screen the whole way through. Five is kind of an awkward number of parts, so I included some (mostly poorly executed) gameplay as well. Let me know what you think of this! The idea of me including gameplay footage, that is. Or you can tell me how badly I played as well, I don't mind! Also, hope you enjoy the Kirby hats a la Smash Bros!
