BYTE: Part 7a (DRAM checking starts)
So, finally got around to looking at the Moldovan BYTE again.
We suspected that the DRAM was at fault.
I need to de-solder each КР565РУ5 (KR565RU5) DRAM chip ... every second one has a decoupling capacitor draped over it ... but my heart just isn't in it at the moment ...
I started de-soldering the DRAM last week on the Ukrainian Олимпик (Olympic) machine and the traces were just coming off and breaking ... that board is definitely low quality and not really meant to be repaired :(
So this is just a start - I got one de-soldered and checked in the DRAMARDUINO ... looks good. Just seven more to check ... but I'm worried that all eight will be okay ... in which case ... the ULA is at fault .... or the Z80 ... there ain't nuthin' left on the board apart from passives ... :(
