First - apologies for the capture quality. Still having issues with my Elgato HD60 S+ working with the MEGA65 and my laptop. I will endeavour to get it working for the 2nd cartridge test.

So, finally, I figured out how to get cartridges working. I grew up Amstrad so never had to experience the PAL vs NTSC differences like on the C64.

Anyway, I found that these settings worked best:
[1] PAL 50Hz (i.e. match the game, duh)
[2] Auto CPU
[3] Max. 40MHz frequency

The game I tried here was Galencia by Jay Aldred and published by Protovision. Impressed with the effort that went into the packaging.

It pretty much played without glitches (once CPU frequency was set to 40MHz). I did notice some graphical artefacts (three red dots) but overall, worked like it should.

I used a Suncom TAC2 joystick ... it sure got a workout.

Will try Sam's Journey next ... hopefully using the HDMI capture.
