Cabela's Monster Bass for the PS2 has one of the most unique game styles you've ever seen in a Console Fishing Game. It requires entry of quick & accurate combos using varying combination codes as they appear onscreen. Mess up one too many times and you'll be saying bye bye to your fish. This game keeps you involved for that very reason since you must be alert and ready to react to the onscreen combos at all times. The fish models in this game are very well rendered and their actions are so natural, true to life and some of the best I've ever seen in a game. In my opinion this game is one of the most enjoyable fishing games I've played and doesn't get boring as quickly as others of its genre. On the downside, Cabela's unfortunately doesn't offer any tournament competition against other A/I controlled contestants as you must strictly play to meet fish number & weight goals in order to advance to higher levels and unlock more lakes which unfortunately also is quite limited in number. This game could've been one of the best if Activision had gone deeper with it. Nonetheless I love this game and will always go back to it for it's great fishing satisfaction.
