Cable & Wire Industry In Focus As Raw Material Prices Decline
7Share prices of cable and wire manufacturers have been buzzing in trade due to a sharp correction seen in copper and aluminium prices. On average, in Q1FY23, copper and aluminium prices have declined by 20% and 30%, respectively, compared to last quarter. Copper and Aluminium are key raw materials and form 57% of total cost of goods for any cable and wire company.
However, usually, a sharp rise or decline in raw material prices is usually passed on to consumers. But, a fall in prices usually leads to quicker inventory de-stocking.
