Calibrated Sculk Sensors are Awesome! - Talon's Oasis - Ep 104
Let's experiment with the new calibrated sculk sensors today! We're going to update our visitor center redstone and we're going to try and learn the sculk sensor microcircuit. We also look into the new resonance that amethyst blocks can have when paired with sculk sensors.
Extra Stuff:
- The four piece trim design I was talking about was coast on the head, snout on the chest, tide on the legs, and dune on the boots. I also noticed that wild and coast are practically interchangeable and work very well together (coast helmet is cooler though).
- Not sure if you noticed, but when I crafted the written books I accidentally crafted my sculk sensor guide and overwrote it. I had to remake it by piecing together parts of it on different clips since I didn't remember what all was in it. And then later I realized it actually would have made sense to copy the sculk sensor manual so I always know what frequency is what. Oh well. 😅
Video Reference:
The correct test result was redstone first, sculk second and observer last. What happened was the observer stabilizer was not set long enough for a bell ring (needed four repeaters instead of two for the locking line) and so the redstone pulled the winning block in and then pushed it back out. And then the sculk sensor triggered three times, pull, push, pull, and then eventually the observer line triggered twice as well, but there was nothing for it to claim. I ended up testing with command blocks since they're a more immediate result and the redstone consistently beat the sculk by about a second or so, and the sculk beat the observers by about a half a second or so (would've been longer if the observers had been the full length). So in the end, the redstone is the fastest and cheapest, but the least flexible. The calibrated sculk sensor trades speed for flexibility (going through walls and air). And the observers are the most expensive and the slowest, but allow the least interference. So each has its own benefits (but my favorite is the sculk sensor).
Command Block Survival is a gamemode where every command has a self-imposed price. It allows crafting of certain creative mode items (the recipe is part of the price) and adds an entirely new dimension of creativity!
