Calicium chlorosporum is a crustose lichen that is found growing on trees throughout much of the world.
The lichen has a pale brownish yellow to beige, verrucose, areolate or subimmersed thallus. The apothecia is 0.75 to 1.1 millimetres (0.030 to 0.043 in) high with a shining black to brownish stalk that is typically 0.8 to 0.16 millimetres (0.031 to 0.006 in) diameter.The species is found in Africa, North, Central and South America, and in Australasia.
