Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. Black Ops 6 is the twenty-first installment of the Call of Duty series and the seventh main entry in the Black Ops sub-series, directly following Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War from 2020.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s single-player story campaign is set in 1991 and follows rogue operatives Troy Marshall and Frank Woods as they assemble a team of agents to hunt down Pantheon, a secret faction that has infiltrated the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and branded anyone who resists them as traitors to the United States of America.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features new gameplay mechanics such as omnidirectional movement, which allows players to sprint, dive, and slide in any direction; and intelligent movement settings, which automate certain player actions, including sprinting and mantling. The game also includes multiplayer mode, which has sixteen brand new maps at launch and the cooperative round-based Zombies mode, which includes two all-new maps at launch and continues the mode's storyline from Black Ops Cold War.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 released on October 25, 2024, for PlayStation 4 & 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The game is also available to subscribers of select Xbox Game Pass plans on release day.
