Call of Duty: Black Ops walkthrough part 9- Project Nova
0Mason flashes back to his time in Vorkuta. Where Reznov tells Mason the story of how he ended up there, he and his squadron, including his old warbuddy Dmitri Petrenko partake in a mission where Dragovich and Kravchenko try to find a German defector, Dr. Friedrich Steiner, who offered to cooperate with them. After they and other Red Army soldiers fight through Wermacht soldiers with both sides taking casualties, the Red army manages to kill all german soldiers (including some trying to surrender.) Reznov finally reaches Steiner, who orders him to take him to Dragovich. Later, they enter an abandoned SS ship that was shipwrecked in the ice, they reach Nova 6. Soon after, Reznov and his squad are betrayed by Dragovich and the other Red Army soldiers, they are thrown into the gas chambers with Nova 6, and Reznov witnesses 3 of his squadmates, including Dmitri die a slow death because of the gas. But before Reznov, Tvelin and Nevski suffer the same fate, the ship is raided by British Commandos who are also after Nova 6. The 3 then fight through both sides of the ship and arm the explosives planted on the ship, deciding they can't let either side have Nova 6. Tvelin is killed in the fighting, but Reznov and Nevski escape before the ship explodes, Reznov is injured in the explosion. Nevski escapes and is never seen again. Reznov tells Mason that he learned that Dragovich is recreating Nova 6 and will die before he gives up. He then tells Mason that he must decide what he thinks is right, as he does not trust Mason's government to destroy Nova 6.
