Call Of Duty has been 'transformed' by Warzone and the mobile edition of the game
'Call Of Duty' has been "transformed" by 'Warzone' and the mobile edition of the game.
Activision has revealed that the free-to-play battle royale game has helped sales rise 72 per cent, with 'Black Ops Cold War' also helping with "strong premium sales".
Microtransactions within the mobile version has also helped the game's income double up and all have "transformed the franchise", with 'Call of Duty' showing a huge 40 per cent year-on-year growth in monthly active users, new figures released by Activision has revealed.
Season Three, which launched earlier this month, is "sustaining this strong run-rate, tracking in-line with the first two season," according to game bosses.
'Call Of Duty' will unveil a new game later this year from Sledgehammer Games, which has been "built for next-gen". However, it didn't confirm if it would be available for PS4 and / or Xbox One.
The new game will "integrate with and enhance the Call of Duty ecosystem" as well as Warzone.
