Nintendo recorded its best ever operating profit in 2020.
The gaming giant - which has now sold 84.59 million consoles and 587.1 million games - also achieved its second-best year in terms of revenue, with $16.6 billion.
As reported by Eurogamer, the company has recorded $6 billion in operating profit, although they expect a decline for the current financial year.
Over the past 12 months, Nintendo's fortunes were boosted during the pandemic due to increased sales of the Switch, as well as the huge success of 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons'.
Thus, they are expecting a decline in both profit and revenue in the current financial year - which runs until March 31, 2022 - as they will struggle to match these levels.
In terms of individual games, 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe' has gone beyond 35.4 million copies sold, and 'New Horizons' itself has shifted 32.6 million after just a year of release.
