11Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a Western-themed first-person shooter video game developed by Techland and published by Ubisoft. Released in North America on digital distribution platforms Steam, Uplay, Xbox Live, Playstation Network and PC on May 22nd, 2013.
The game features Silas Greaves as protagonist, and most chapters are in the form of visualization of his recollection of events spanning from 1880 to 1910. As such, graphics are rendered in cartoonish-style.
Gunslinger features an XP and upgrade system. Also, concepts like Concentration Mode and some gameplay mechanics from previous generations are reused. New gameplay mechanic to dodge lethal bullet, known as Sense of Death, is presented.
The game also features Arcade Mode where the player can try to get the highest score as possible. Duel Mode is also included. The game also have "Nuggets of Truth" collectibles that provide factual information on the real-life characters, locations and events.
A total of 3 difficulties, namely "Normal", "Hard" and "True West", are available. "True West" is unlocked upon the first finish of the game. Difficulties mainly affect the health of Silas and his enemies. Plus, in True West mode, most HUDs including the crosshair are forced to off, the player can take much less damage, and VIP bosses are much more resilient.
Also after the first finish, a new mode called "New Game Plus" is unlocked. In this mode, all experiences points from previous finish are retained, allowing the player to achieve max level of 37 (XP capped at 600,000) and unlock all skills. Difficulty options are also given for New Game Plus.
Difficulties can be changed anytime in-game via settings.
