The hills to the north of the Military Outpost were full of mutants, half a dozen unarmed zombies and at least a couple of snorks, moving around in the blackness of night. I feared for the life of the lone soldier I had passed by earlier, coming back from the Car Park and Old Mill. He was last seen at the camp across the road from the Rookie Village, which is where all the zombies seemed to be hanging around. I had heard gunfire earlier but did not get any messages identifying who and where it was coming from.

I decided to shoot at those that I could, to thin down their numbers. I definitely wasn't going to leave the Outpost, and stumble into a den of snorks hiding in the bushes. There was nothing to do but monitor their numbers and movements and keep them from reaching our perimeter. Much to my surprise, sometime after midnight, a Military squad showed up to reinforce our garrison. I can't believe they were out there in the dark and they made it to our location. They said they had been dispatched from the Military Base in the Agroprom, after the report of a Pseudogiant wiping out all the Loners at the Rookie Village. The last thing the Military wanted was a mutant escaping the Cordon and reaching the outside world.
