Can a Radeon 890M & Optimax Mod Handle Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Linux? (CachyOS 900p Test)
*Struggling to run Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Linux?*
In this video, I push the limits on CachyOS at 900p with XeSS Balanced and a medium preset to see how the game performs. While Clair Obscur runs out-of-the-box on Linux, its base performance is unfortunately poor.
That's why I've turned to Optimax's Mod and its "Low Spec Gaming" INI files. With these tweaks, XeSS, and the 900p resolution, the game runs significantly better! However, I couldn't quite hit a constant 60 FPS, and the visuals leaned more towards a PS3/Xbox 360 era look. Despite that, this game is truly outstanding and comes highly recommended for its gameplay.
Watch to see the full Linux gaming performance of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on an AMD Radeon 890M with the Optimax Mod! If you found this test helpful, please leave a like and consider subscribing for more Linux gaming content.
