As ruler of the underworld, he judges souls in the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, ensuring the balance of Ma’at (truth). Murdered by his brother Set and resurrected by his wife Isis, Osiris represents death and rebirth. Often depicted as a mummified king with green or black skin, symbolising fertility and regeneration, he is also the father of Horus. Worshipped as a benevolent deity, Osiris presides over agriculture and the cycle of life, embodying the enduring connection between mortality and immortality in Egyptian mythology.
