Can I Beat Simpsons Hit & Run in One? (Answer: Yes, But It's Hard)
How Long To Beat says The Simpsons Hit & Run is about 10 hours long and, if you take a good look at the length of this VOD, you'll see that's about right. For my 3rd Twitch Affiliate anniversary (which isn't important to yall on YouTube) I decided to do a big long stream where I tired to go to the distance and beat Simpsons Hit & Run in one stream, in one sitting and though it's a spoiler to say so, I did in fact do the deed.
Simpsons Hit & Run is a hell of a game. It's sort of a GTA style sandbox driving game that's also a wonderful love letter to the series at its peak. The seven levels/three worlds are all full of easter eggs, landmarks and tons of love. That said, the missions themselves? Hard as balls. Tight timers, difficult conditions, heat that's hard to avoid, money that runs low, challenges after challenges without checkpoints, this game puts you through the ringer. Well... it does allow you to skip missions, I didn't allow myself that option. I had to get good.
As a near ten hour stream I will say it was, somehow, mostly on topic. There's a lot to talk about as far as The Simpsons go. Favorite characters, favorite episodes, best bits, best songs, the Apu situation, most iconic cameos, landmarks that should be at Disney's version of Springfield once the rights return to them, the greater detail the Hollywood version of Springfield area apparently has that I had no idea about, myriad mods for this game that add Futurama/Family Guy, just… tons of stuff related to the Simpson and also a little Futurama talk too. Why was there never a Futurama game this good? Honestly.
This stream was rough at times, some missions felt like they could've lasted hours more and driven this playthrough into multiple parts and not a single long ass stream but I pulled through, got it done and that just feels so good. Thanks yall for everything.
