NOTES:
I play through ODST fairly regularly as it's one of my favorite Halo games. But aside from inventing the NG+ route years ago, which was at first lambasted, then adopted as standard for a time on Halo Runs (well done, gents), I haven't completed any tricking-related projects in it. That was until recently while I was enjoying a casual playthrough, and a little thought popped into my head. "I wonder if I could beat the game without touching a road..."

Who doesn't like a game of the floor is lava? The project wasn't without its immediate and pressing questions, however. How was I going to press the door switches? What is the entirety of Coastal Highway going to look like? But I set out anyway, ultimately finding success... mostly. There are a few spots in the game where you spawn on a road at the start of the mission. Not much I can do about that, I'm afraid, but the rest of the game is possible!

I was generous and allowed myself to use the ghost on Uplift Reserve and Coastal Highway. I figured since it's a hovercraft, it isn't actually touching the road :P I was somewhat generous throughout, honestly, walking on the close side of the road, particularly before ONI Alpha Site. Still counts! :D NMPD, Kikowani, and Data Hive aren't present as they don't feature any roads.

This project was lots of fun to work on, aside from needing to utilize campaign theater, which is still nightmare adjacent, even after all these years. It's one of those perfect projects where the second you mention the concept to someone, they pause, then start smiling at the idea. Overall, it's quite simple to execute in the end. There's very little "tricks" to execute, just a collection of small obstacles to conquer, which is my cup of tea. I hope you enjoy this casual journey through the campaign. As ever, keep it clean, respect public property :)

Oh and I did look around to see if this had been done/attempted before, and I couldn't really find anything substantial. Just a single questionable speedrun of Tayari Plaza. This strikes me as the kind of idea that had to have crossed someone's mind before though, so if this is you, I thank you for your beautiful brain!

Luke F is my fav.
