Can You Beat Saints Row: The Third With Zombies Everywhere?
0Zombies have taken over Steelport! Feast your eyes (and your brains) on this brief overview of this challenge run where I had, with the help of an in-game cheat, brought the zombie apocalypse to Saints Row: The Third!
Initially, I really didn't anticipate that having the zombies everywhere cheat enabled would have, to a degree, little effect on this run as a whole, save for a few missions here and there.
The Escort activity can be passed easily if one only resets their progress upon getting a difficult side objective during this run; i.e. perform two vehicle near-misses in a row. In terms of the in-game ambient traffic, the streets are largely deserted (a side effect of the zombies everywhere cheat), so objectives like these would be nearly impossible to complete, and parked vehicles don't count towards the near-misses side objective. Other side objectives in this activity (i.e. powerslides, crash damage to vehicles, etc.) can still be easily completed.
Some activities are tied into the game as mandatory story missions. For the most part, such missions are not too difficult to complete with the aforementioned cheat enabled.
Though not shown in this video, the game would sometimes bug out with this cheat enabled and cause no NPCs to spawn on the streets (yes, even the zombies). This didn't cause me any issues during this run, however.
Some bits of gameplay and audio had some teething issues in the original recordings. I had to cut these parts out and condense this video down into a more digestible format. A couple of these teething issues might've made their way into this final edited video, though they shouldn't be too noticeable. In turn, this did lead to this video being condensed down a lot more than I would've liked, though I didn't feel that it would do this challenge run justice if I had simply held out out making this video.
Ran on vanilla Saints Row: The Third without any modifications or DLC content (completed in two sittings). Only a single in-game cheat was used in this run.
