Can You Beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat With A Gauss Rifle?
2There is only one Gauss Rifle present in this game and I'll be attempting to beat this game using only this weapon. Despite its high power and long range, one can expect the acquisition process for this weapon to be long and difficult. Thankfully, it shouldn't be too much of a problem for a seasoned player like myself.
It is crucial that you save your game as soon as the Monolith sniper (the one with the Gauss Rifle) dies as this gives you a small window of opportunity to pick up the Gauss Rifle before any of the surrounding Monolithians do. If you do attempt a run like this by yourself, please keep in mind that it would require a lot of time and patience to get the aforementioned Monolith sniper killed by his allies.
Also, I was able to perform what is known as the "Elevator Glitch" in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. speedrunning community. Special thanks to a YouTube user named Magpie for publishing a tutorial on how to do this glitch as well as a method of skipping the Brain Scorcher. The elevator glitch can be performed in all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games as well as the many mods based on them. His tutorial on this can be accessed here:
