Can You Beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky Using Golden Weapons?
1When life gives you lemons, use them to buy a golden gun! Some stalkers were daring enough to use gold plating to give their guns a cool appearance. Others had settled for spray-painting their guns instead. Join me as I make my way through the Zone and get my hands on an assortment of shiny goodies to play with!
At 7:44 in this video, I mentioned that I had used a money exploit to source a lot of my gear throughout this run. This particular method is only possible (spoilers ahead) once you have acquired the Compass artifact for Forester and progressed up to the mission where he asks you to acquire said artifact for him. Once both of these conditions have been met, you can notify him that you have found the Compass artifact, then immediately stop engaging in dialog with him (without progressing further in the conversation with him).
This gives you an upgraded Vintar BC sniper rifle (known as the VSS Vintorez in real life) each time you do this. This occurs as there is a present oversight in the game's code where the game rewards you with the upgraded Vintar BC before you've managed to turn in the quest item and complete the mission (in this case, it is the Compass artifact). This money exploit is not mandatory and was only done for fun during this run. This exploit is shown in full between 7:54 and 9:30.
Starting from 11:45 in this video and ending at 13:41, I performed the elevator glitch to get to Limansk earlier than I should have. Special thanks to a YouTube user named Magpie for publishing a tutorial on how to do this glitch as well as a method of skipping the Brain Scorcher. The elevator glitch can be performed in all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games as well as the many mods based on them. His tutorial on this can be accessed here:
