The G42 5G is Nokia’s latest smartphone built with repairability in mind. The display, battery, USB port and rear cover have all been designed to be user-replaceable.

Nokia has partnered with iFixit to produce a range of how-to guides, along with access to readily available replacement parts and tools. And - if you carry out a repair using iFixit’s instructions, it’ll be considered an authorized repair, so it won’t even affect the phone’s warranty.

Given the Nokia G42’s sub-£200 price point, it’ll be interesting to see how many users take the time to crack it open, but if we can do it, you can too!
