Hey guys, back with another how to.
Escort missions are definitely one of the more panic-y mission archetypes, especially when you're new to the specific mission. You're dropped in with limited resources and instructed to tackle an entrenched enemy hell-bent on destroying your charge as it MOVES from A - B. Their superior position, numbers and technology leaving you totally overwhelmed; with wave after wave leaving you panic-struck, desperately funneling in support for your charge.
Your rally points need to change. You unit composition now needs AA. Your base is being torn apart and units whittled down. And all the while the Good Docotor's Transport moves at a snails pace whilst sucking up those Tungsten shells. No pressure, eh Doc?

There are a fair few of these missions throughout TW and KW and I submit that this one as potentially the most challenging. GDI not only have a well fortified base with limitless Blue Tiberium, but two smaller production areas between you and your objective. Add to that their infinite influx of Rank 3 Sonics and Slingshots from the Western port once you activate the escort, sandwiching you between armor and annihilation.
Why not Turtle then? Well the pressure guage is kept on by GDI's rear Tiberium Field, plus the fact that they will try to capture all of the Tiberium Spikes and Civilian Silo's on the map. They'll spam huge Missile Squad - Predator Tank combos if the rear base remains in tact, and will have resources to spare even afterwards. With this said you'll ideally need to pick up at least the Tiberium Spikes and Silo's at the port and potentially the ones at the mid in order to starve GDI.

For this mission I simply took apart the main GDI base, capping some of it and destroying the rest with Blue Flame Flame Tanks. Then I just sat in my base with my limited resources and used base defenses with Infantry to hold of the GDI hordes - funded by Spikes, Silo's and Crates of course. (Having the GDI rear field certainly helped too.) GDI are then exhausted so it's simply a case of building up the army and triggering the escort!
I think it's fair to say we've all thrown our keyboards at the wall during our attempts at one of these. Well, for your catharsis, I submit this 100% health run of "The Doctor Vanishes"!
