The Evil Austen Von Flyswatter has pulled off the largest gem heist in history, and ageing superhero Captain Dynamo comes out of retirement to secure the gems and save the world. It's a pretty contrived plot for what amounts to a very formulaic platform game, but the graphics are excellent, and at £7.99 on release I guess there were worse value titles.

The objective of the game is to simply collect gems for points and make your way to the top of each level to find the exit. Secret warps can be found hidden inside walls of certain levels, but it doesn't make much sense to skip levels when there're only 6 to begin with. There are also two hidden rooms with bonus gems, but as with the warps, accessing these will skip ahead to the next level; the first is located near the beginning of level 3, and the second is found at the end of level 6.

All things considered, Captain Dynamo isn't going to set the world on fire, but I guess it's a competent-enough platformer.
