Captain Jeff Here with another review of Adventure Time... Water Park Prank.
To Begin... WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THE ANIMATION STYLE!?!?! This is the 4th time the show has undergone a drastic animation change, and only 2 of those times actually worked. The style is flat, even flatter than normal, and he show did have some aspects of depth,this episode had little to none.
Finn and Jake go to a water park to have fun but end up pulling pranks the Ice King. Now, I get that the show isn't meant to be taken too seriously, Chips and Ice Cream saw to that, but after episodes like Hoots and Graybles 1000+, it's a weird feeling to go back to. I guess it's hard to balance a serious story with satire and humor, given what the show is trying to do.
In fairness, I give the episode two medium thumbs. While I wasn't a fan of this episode, and I wonder what is going on with the show in general, I am trying to meet it halfway. It's weird how I have encountered some episode in the series that I don't like, but I guess they can't all be winners.
