Friedemann Friese's trick-making game. In Card Fishing, you try to catch as many tricks as possible over eight rounds, where each card you catch is worth 1 point. Use your caught cards for the next round - and if you haven't caught enough tricks to fill your hand, you'll draw new cards from the ocean pile, which introduces new cards for the fishermen to fight over.

At the start of each round, you'll have between 8 and 13 cards in hand, depending on the number of players and the round. In the first round, cards range from 1 to 10 in four colors. In the basic trick-taking rules, players must follow a color and the highest card wins the trick.

New cards come into play from the ocean pile in waves, with higher-value cards in all four colors, a green trump suit from 1 to 16, 0 cards that let you draw a card from the trick, and buoy cards with special powers that can always be played to a trick regardless of what you have in hand. With buoys, you can steal the lead or determine which color should lead the next trick, force players to pass cards or lose points—you can even steal all the other cards in a trick, which would ideally net you a big haul to use in the next round.

At the end of each round, you score 1 point for each card you've caught. Whoever scores the most points after eight rounds wins.

Use card tricks to catch fish, then use those fish as bait to catch more.
