CarnEvil is playable on Raspberry Pi 5 64bit
I got me a Raspberry Pi 5 and I'm testing to see what it can do. How much more capable is it than the Pi4?
Carnevil is a game that a lot of people ask for and it does run. Unfortunately not in current libretro-mame (0.260) but rather in lr-mame-2003-plus, which is a modified version of an older (twenty years now I guess) mame incarnation, readily availalbe as part of the retropie setup facility.
According to Retroarch's frame counter it runs comfortably at 54fps, which is not far off the native 57kHz. I'm playing it here on my overclocked Pi5 with a Sinden Lightgun.
The overclock may not be necessary, or at least maybe not as aggressively as I was running it, and I did get a fatal crash near the end of the game, but that was most likely a by-product of my excessive overclocking.

I mostly do gameplay videos on original hardware, occasionally a how-to guide or sometimes a look at something new, like developments on the Raspberry Pi5 and Sinden Lightgun.
