This is a fun demo project I have been working on over the past year, for myself, just exploring writing songs. I would not claim these are the best songs ever written. I am not a singer in the slightest and I am far from the greatest guitarist. These songs are unrefined, as I would often write a part and take it in one take. I wasn't focused on writing good music, just expression and practice. The songs focus on the spiritual world and human struggles. Brain is about our demons and the fight to improve ourself and overcome them. Overweight and Outtashape is about the critic in our minds that we must overcome, as well as the expectations of society and the desire of purpose. Shaky Leaf Dance is a metaphor of human relationships told through the story of a lemur hunting a chameleon. Key Skies a declaration of love to a place on earth and a memory. Poison, written when I was in high school, about the fear of failure, addictions, and sin. Welcome to Church, the song that started as a joke, based on the cover art, A picture taken on my wedding day that my friend (Anton Nathan) turned into a "Christian Album" as a joke, is a lamentation in the form of a prayer and a declaration of love to God. Summer is a instrumental that is composed of alterations of riffs my friend Owen Summerland and I wrote back in high school for our band Summerland. String Theory is just me testing out my SG after I put new strings on it, just noodling and playing random and old riffs and solos (including a cool solo Owen wrote a long time ago).
