The year is 2035. Dracula is long dead. On the day of a solar eclipse, Soma Cruz and his friend Mina visit a shrine in Japan, only to be pulled into the realm inside the eclipse, where Dracula's castle had been sealed.

Discovering he has also gained the power to subjugate the souls of the castle's monsters and use their abilities, Soma begins exploring, seeking a means of escape.
