Dracula X was always like.... A myth to me. I managed to get a copy like in 1999 and it didnt amazed me. I already had started Castlevania collecting by then, but I hated to pay huge prices for bad games. And it was what I felt with this one.

I also was a bit biased because Magazines back then hated on it because "it wasnt Rondo" and all the content that it was missing and such.

But the damn game has grown on me with time, so much, that I appreciate it for what it is more, than for what it isnt, ir what is missing.

Sure, in comparison to Rondo it pales in content and music, but graphically is better. Gameplay is on par, but I feel its a bit cheaper here, like you have almost zero invincibilty frames after being damaged, which can lead to VERY cheap and quick deaths.

Other than that, I like the colour palette a lot more, those "pastel" colours oon the caves are among my fave ever. I can compare this one easily to CV1 again, and it mught best it in fun in MY opinion, but still its a step back after SCVIV and Rondo, but.... For me, now, its NOT a bad thing.

Its a very nice, albeit short Classicvania. Sadly, its super costly on og hardware, thanks for the Castlevania Advance Collection! (Hoping Legends get added to some new one)

Recorded using a modded Xbox 360 and Retroarch + Snes core. Savestates were used in between stages (I died a couple of times but edited them out) and you might not even realize it.

Enjoy! More to come!
