Castlevania NES - Full Run (By MKKhanzo) 13-03-2024
4While I have been a hardcore fan of anything Castlevania, I must confess that CV1 wasnt my thing up until later. In fact, when I played it back then, on the NES days, I felt it was slow, sluggish and too difficult.
Ironic, because I could breeze thru Ninja Gaiden, Contra and Double Dragon like they were nothing. Thing was that older CVs force you to LEARN to wait your turns and almost like "frame data" due to the clunky jump and how most enemies are faster than you.
It wasnt until I got in love with Castlevania III (My fave CV and my fave game EVER) that I decided to revisit CV, only to find it a bit easier, while still slow and clunky.
Nowadays I can go thru it really easily as you can see it this deathless run.
I will try to re do all my previous CV runs at 1080p/60fps (where the game allows it) and add a bit more of the ones I have been missing here, but never uploaded them on fear that the video would be too long. F*** it. Metroidvanias, here I go.
Recorded using a modded Xbox 360 and Retroarch, with the Nestopia Core.
