It's actually possible to clip through the ceiling in A-02 and bypass the long flight of 6 stairs entirely. You have to:
- fly up to underneath the block in the middle of the second staircase that leads to the pendulum room
- hold up until turning off bat form
- turn off bat form as the bone skeleton's bone starts falling downwards
- take damage boosting upwards, assuming your timing was correct, then turn into bat form again to clip into the ledge above you. this requires very precise timing or else you don't clip into the ledge.
- If done successfully, exit bat form then get out of the way of the skeleton's next bone (you must do this if you run low on health)

Considering how precise the trick is, doing it in a real time run isn't worth it as it won't save a lot of time + heart count is also an issue since the ceiling skip causes you to miss out on 4 hearts, which may be too much of a downside depending on how many you usually get before getting to this section.
