Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 「悪魔城ドラキュラX 月下の夜想曲」is a Metroidvania developed and published by Konami originally for the Sony PlayStation in 1997.

Following on directly from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, which saw Richter Belmont defeating the Lord of Vampires, Dracula, Symphony of the Night takes place a mere 4 years later when the dark lord's castle emerges from the mist. Due to the unprecendented nature of the ancient fortress appearing so soon, Alucard, half-vampire, half-human awakens and sets forth to discover what made the castle appear.

Differing from the Belmonts, Alucard employs a variety of weapons and magic, making his gameplay unique and entertaining.
