CATIA v5 How to use the Scan and Define in Work Object command
The Scan and Define in Work Object command allows the user to navigate through the structure of a part. Sketches are not taken into account by the command.
This command scans the part and defines a current object without taking the complete part into account. Therefore, it is useful for the analysis of the better understanding of the part design.
When a specific object/feature is underlined in the specification tree, the user sees the 3D part from the beginning up to that feature.
The user is also able to add new features to the 3D model of the part immediately after that underlined feature.
By default, the dimensions of these geometric elements are not shown.
To display 3D parameters attached to Part Design features, check the Parameters of features and constraints option in the Tools menu - Options - Infrastructure - Part Infrastructure - Display tab.
