Cavalcadence plays Cadence 1: Intro, Tutorial, and Zone 1


Yes, I decided to use custom colors for Cadence. =) I first found out about custom colors from Phedran (thanks, Phedran!), and since her Cadence turned out pretty cute, I decided to try a simple color edit as well. =)

For anybody who's interested in custom Cadences (or other characters), the official NecroDancer FAQ has some info about creating custom characters, and even has a link to the pinned thread on their official forums, where people have posted some of their custom creations:

So... Crypt of the NecroDancer. I've been interested in this game for quite a while now, so when it went on sale on Steam a couple weeks ago, I finally got around to picking it up! =) I'm still not very good (especially at Zone 3 and Hardcore Mode), but a lot of that is due to still being in the process of learning item properties, shrine effects, enemy attack patterns, etc...

Anyway, this video covers the Intro movie, the Tutorial, and Zone 1. Zone 1 is relatively easy compared to Zones 2 and 3 (Zone 3 especially), but it's still pretty fun to play. In this Zone 1 run, I was trying for a 0-damage run (which is why I didn't purchase any armor). I did manage to make it through without taking any damage (yay!)... but I did lose my coin multiplier once, along the way. So... not a perfect run, but not too bad, all things considered. =)


Oh, and for those of you who are unfamiliar with the game... the mini-bosses and bosses, like almost everything else in the game, are determined randomly (or at least procedurally). So if you play the same Zone multiple times, you're probably going to get a different mix each time (for example, I didn't get any dragons this time).

Anyway, if anybody was wondering, the Zone 1 mini-bosses and boss I encountered during this run were: Minotaur, Direbat, Gray Minotaur, and Deep Blues 1.
