999 trytes!

It took me almost 6 months, but I finally got all 999 trytes. =) Yes, legitimately, without any file editing or changing the date, or anything like that. =)

And while 6 months may sound like a long time, it didn't actually feel like it. For me, the game is fun enough that just by doing the daily sets (I played the daily sets almost every day, though of course, I did miss some days here and there and there, along the way), the milestones just sort of crept up on me. Like "Oh, wow, 500 already!" or "Wow, 750 trytes!" or "Am I really at 900 already?" And so here we are at 999. =)


A quick explanation of what the trytes are:

The trytes are the little triangle things that you earn each time you complete a set of 25 levels. Each tryte you earn will unlock a piece of a complex (but definitely optional!) 999-piece puzzle. From what I understand, the 999 pieces include both a cipher and the key to that cipher.

BTW, through cooperation and collaboration, a group of fans already solved the cipher (and figured out the coded message), quite some time ago. If that interests you, take a look at the Steam forum for LYNE. There should be a pinned thread called "Cipher thread".


So anyway... to get from 998 to 999, I played through Set B (a 4-tryte set) for Sunday, October 5th, 2014. For some reason, some parts gave me more trouble than usual. Like the Blue section of level 16... and the Red/Orange intersection of level 19... =p But overall, I didn't do too badly. =)

And yes, there is a special message in the game when you get to 999 (though it is a pretty short/simple message). Anyway, if you just want to see that, just skip ahead to:

BTW, I recently found out that nahuta10 posted a 999 trytes video a little over a month ago (I think it's the first 999 trytes video posted to youtube). I'll include a link to that video below, in case anybody's interested. =)
