Welcome back to my final CDP of the year, so let's return back to the Terminal World for a 'standard' Fabled synchro build featuring their new support and naturally the Fiendsmith monsters as a support engine. The Fabled archetype consists of LIGHT Fiend and Beast monsters whose primary mechanic revolves around discarding and being sent from the hand to the GY. If you missed my first take on the new support, be sure to check that out with the Purrely archetype here: • CDP: Fabled Purrely Fiendsmith, Unico...
Now that you're back, let's talk about what the Fabled can do in a more Synchro-heavy approach. In short, they Synchro Summon very well. The Fabled Behillmoth can faux-Synchro Summon by discarding itself and other Fabled monster(s) from the hand, Fabled Kushano is a Level 3 that can keep sending Fabled monsters to the GY to return itself to hand, and you have Fabled Grimro that can send itself to grab any Fabled monster you need. As for the Synchro monsters themselves, Fabled Ragin has long been the defacto 'best' option, since it is a Level 5 that lets you draw up to a hand of 2 cards on Synchro Summon. However, you also have Fabled Gamygyn, a new Level 4 Synchro Tuner that sets up for its own further Fabled Synchro summon in addition to drawing you new cards, and the Level 6 option, Fabled Andwraith that forces your opponent to discard or let you draw more cards. The new boss of the theme is the Level 10 Fabledswarm Leverzebul, a LIGHT Fiend that has a Quick Effect to tribute any number of Fabled monsters to take control of the same number of monsters from your opponent. Also, if it's in the GY, it can shuffle itself into the Extra Deck to recover another Fabled Card from your GY.
If you don't think that's good enough, I implore you to think again, because this deck has some serious muscle behind it. Even the older Fabled Leviathan has found a place in the build, as its antique design now lends itself to some near-infinite combos when you discard The Fabled Catsith, use Catsith to destroy Leviathan, and then you keep adding 3 Fabled monsters from your GY back from hand. Since none of these effects are once per turn, this can loop pretty far. If that loop doesn't work out, you can always turn to Pot of Avarice to shuffle back your monsters and get even more draws to play with. And if none of the above seems to be working in your favor, the Fiendsmith archetype gives you consistent access to Extra Deck options via any LIGHT Fiend monster.
With that, I wish you all a happy 2025, and see you in the new year with brand-new profiles and other content!
