Today's CDP features my return to the Materiactor archetype, a theme of Dragon monsters that combine with Level 3 Normal Monsters to Xyz Summon! If you missed my initial take featuring the Goblin Bikers and a few other R3NK driven subengines, be sure to check that out here first: • CDP: Materiactor R3NK Toolbox, with G...
Now that you're back and you're acquainted with the new cards, let's talk about what this build sets out to accomplish. First, it intends to open with a copy of either Ken the Warrior Dragon or Gen the Diamond Tiger, as either summons the other to the opponent's board. From there, the goal of the deck is to steal away the copy you gave your opponent, and use its effect as well, to gain the benefits of both. In here, you have three ways to steal control: Change of Heart, Triple Tactics Talents, and Mind Control, and that should be all you need. From there, you have 2 Level 3 monsters to begin all of your Materiactor plays, whether it is going through Materiactor Exagard into Materiactor Zeptowing into Materiactor Critical, or if you choose to spam as many Xyz monster effect activations as possible to load up a Materiactor Xyz with material with Materiactor Meltdown. One more thing before we move on - since the Ken/Gen engine gives your opponent a card you own, Mantman the Ultrahuman, a recent TCG World Premiere card, fits into this strategy as well!
Just before I wrap up, I also want to call out the other two supporting engines. First, the Armored Xyz one which has plenty it can accomplish when you can Rank up from either Xyz Armor Torpedo or a Materiactor into Xyz Armor Fortress. This package just plays so well with Ken/Gen, that I feel that they almost should always appear together. Secondly, you have the Terrors of the Afterroot package, which gives you unique forms of control and disruption over your opponent's board. These are just cards I've grown to love recently, and have been finding ways to incorporate them into as many different decks as possible! Alright, that's enough from me, so go get back out there and try to build a new deck!
