Cel Damage: Overdrive - PlayStation 2 Gameplay
2Developed by Pseudo Interactive, Cel Damage: Overdrive is an updated PAL exclusive PS2 port of the original Cel Damage, which originally released on Xbox and GameCube by Electronic Arts. The PS2 port was released by System 3 under the Play It label.
This game is essentially Looney Tunes meets Twisted Metal, as you have an arsenal of wacky cartoon weapons at your disposal to smash opponents into pieces. Some of the characters include a goth girl, a geeky nerd, an imp, a mobster duck, a dominatrix, a construction worker and more.
Although the game's sequel was cancelled due to lackluster sales and the fact the pitch was rejected by publishers like EA, SEGA, Ubisoft and Midway, this cult classic eventually got an HD remaster by Finish Line Games (who also developed Skully and Maize) for PlayStation 3 (despite this version sold as a PS2 Classic in the EU PlayStation Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The PSN version in particular also has cross-buy, which means you get all the versions on the PlayStation consoles for the price of one.
