You might have guessed it from the model name: the S95C follows the 2022 Samsung S95B , the very first QD-OLED. You won't have to settle for just one QD OLED model this year though - there are five TVs coming out. This is the lineup for 2023:
S95C (in sizes 55, 65 and 77 inches)
S90C (in sizes 55, 65 and 77 inches)
The top model, the S95C , has a new, slimmer One-Connect box and a new stand. The S95C will be characterized by a very slim design, which we estimate to be about one centimeter deep.
Of course, a new television generation not only has to bring design changes, but also technical changes. The manufacturer explains that it is using a new material for the displays of the new models. Samsung Display calls this material "OLED HyperEfficient EL" . We assume that it is an optimized OLED luminescent layer.
The promise: The new displays achieve more than 2,000 nits. Optionally, you should also be able to turn down the brightness and thus save energy. Overall, the power consumption of the 2023 panels has been reduced by up to 25 percent compared to the panels from 2022. Samsung Display has not yet explained exactly how this was achieved and under what conditions this value was determined.
Incidentally, the two models will also be worthwhile as gaming televisions : they support 4K resolution at 144 Hz. In addition, a new, improved version of the gaming hub will be available for televisions in 2023.
